Well, as promised break time is over. Let’s talk about April really quick.
I was fortunate enough to be a Featured Guest at FantaSci in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. With panels on the Four Horsemen Universe, Chris Kennedy Publishing, and the 1632 universes, my weekend was extremely busy but I enjoyed myself immensely.
As a writer, I love seeing friends and fans at conventions and shows. Being able to say hello and enjoy time with them is amazing. Being around my fellow writers is nothing short of a family reunion. While I traveled with a great bunch from Colorado to the convention, arriving and seeing such great friends as Chris Kennedy, Kacey Ezell, Marisa Wolf, Jon Osborne, Melissa Olthoff, Alan Smale, Jacob and H.P. Holo, and everyone else (because I’m going to run out of room if I label all of the amazing folks at FantaSci) was one of my highlights of the entire trip.
I also got a chance to “interview” my friend and mentor Kevin J. Anderson as FantaSci’s Guest of Honor
FantaSci will be taking a one-year hiatus and return in 2026. I plan on being there. Thank you to Joel and Mari Lyons, and their amazing convention volunteers and staff, for another excellent year!
For the first time in a while, I went back-to-back with appearances and the next weekend I was a featured Keynote Speaker at the Pikes Peak Writer’s Conference in Colorado Springs. Being back to PPWC was a tremendous experience and I simply cannot wait to return (hopefully next year!).
Now, though, it’s back to work on a couple of things. I’ve begun work on a new solo Four Horsemen Universe novel with the title BEGGAR which ties directly to my Peacemaker novels and the upcoming anthology BUREAU 42.
I’ve also been working hard on the screen adapation of my debut novel SLEEPER PROTOCOL. Yep, you read that right. Screen. I promise more information when I can, as we’re still early in the process, but I’m ridiculously excited about this project.
Stay tuned!
